Our new BYOBBQ experience is delicious AND fun!

If you’re entertaining guests or visiting us here in Texas, there are probably two things at the very top of your “To Do” list.  Horseback riding and barbecue, right?  Luckily our Lockhart location puts you right in the heart of BBQ country.  With world renowned barbecue options, Lockhart, TX is a stable of the state’s prime eateries.  It’s also home to one of our beautiful ranches where you can enjoy an incredible horseback riding experience… and more.

Starting on December 14th, 2018 we are offering half day excursions.  While guests are welcome to come ride and dash, we are happy to invite them to join us for a delicious BBQ plate on the house.  Diners are welcome to enjoy some of the magnificent views the Lockhart location has to offer.  Enjoy the back porch of the ranch house over looking the valley, bring a picnic blanket and make your way to a private bluff top view, or simply stay and relax in the barnyard (although the doggies and friendly kitties may reach out to you for some barbecue support).

After you’ve had your fill, take a hike, lie in a hammock in the hammock pasture and read a book, take a stroll to the pond and try your hand at some fishing.  We have paddle boats and kayaks on property for your use.

Let’s face it, getting out into the country is a big part of the horse experience.  Why not take a day and get away from phones, alarms, clocks and devices?  We love to share our healthy lifestyle with our guests and as the holiday season continues to roll through, we are so excited to share this new experience with you.

Whether you’re working with a horse you’ve just met or one you’ve had a relationship with for years, the rules are the same: approach […]

Horsemanship 101: Trusting your horse on trail

Post submitted by Sara Clark Humans are, by all scientific accounts, smarter than the rest of the animal kingdom. Horses, who are herd and prey animals, in particular are not known for their critical reasoning. And it is for that reason, I think, that many people who have spent no time around horses (or other […]
