The Parrie Haynes Ranch Equestrian Center is nestled beside the peaceful Lampasas River. Covering approximately 1600 acres of gorgeous Texas Hill Country terrain, there are bountiful animals and flora for the nature lover. West Fort Hood borders the northern side of the facility. Natural wildlife and native plants dot the trails that meander along rolling native prairies, wild flower laden pastures, cedar and oak trees, and gurgling streams. This is a heritage ranch with “The Priddy Cabin,” which was built in 1859. There are some other homes that once were scattered across the ranch. There may only be foundations remaining. The Parrie Haynes Ranch Equestrian Center Kindly requests that visitors be careful and respect the heritage of the ranch. Guests can also visit the Parrie Haynes Ranch Museum in the Clubhouse, which they point out is “not big but a labor of love for our history.”
