Overnight Horse Camp

Summer is the time to get away from it all: out into the wild blue yonder to get active, get connected, enjoy nature and, HORSEBACK RIDE, of course! We love our summer camp program because it gives students the chance to get a real hands-on feel for what it takes to care for, train and ride horses in a way that’s going to produce a happy, healthy human-equine partnership. We teach horse training with empathy, and sharing this with your summer camper is the highlight of our program.

We have overnight options available for summer campers ages 10 and up for intermediate riders or 12 and up for beginners. Our overnight accommodations require a minimum booking of three. Overnight campers will participate in our traditional program as explained on the details page, but they’ll have the opportunity to learn in greater detail about grooming, mane and tail maintenance, social media marketing and etiquette, equine photography and editing with presentation and layout, bareback riding and vaulting.

Campers will dine on a variety of meals from the heart of downtown Austin. Meals are varied, with healthy options from our wonderful restaurant options. Market Street Cafe offers home order etoricoxib cooked southern style meals with lots of vegetables. Loop and Lills has pizza and salad options. Mr. Taco has great Tex Mex with limited veggie options, but it’s worth a visit at least one night! Henry’s is a local favorite that has classic American cuisine. Generally, we do not visit fast food restaurants. If students wish to eat fast food, there is a local Dominos and Pizza Hut that deliver.

Sleeping accommodations in our bunk room house up to eight students. We have a bunk in our barn loft as well as in the main house on the ranch. Rooms are clean and tidy with simple storage spaces for your children to keep their belongings. We recommend that you send a lock for their bag if they have any valuables. Bathrooms are shared. Campers are required to clean the bathroom one time each, from top to bottom. This teaches riders to share a communal space in a considerate way. Cleaning it regularly ensures that bathroom conditions never become unsightly. We use only natural cleaners in the home and bathroom.

We will be adding photos of our overnight accommodations, so please check back in!

Maverick Ranch Horseback Riding Lessons As is the case with many of the experiences we offer, horseback riding lessons at Maverick Ranch are… well… not the same as horseback riding lessons other places.
