Horse Photography During Summer Camp 2017
A picture really is worth a thousand words, and after many years working as semi-professional photographers, this year’s Camp Director and Co-Director are excited to offer parents the chance to see their children’s day-to-day summer experiences. We know how important it is for you to be a part of your child’s camp, even if you can’t be there in person. So we are bringing our best to provide you with a daily glimpse of the goings-on here at Ranch Management Camp.

Most of the pictures you see on our site, Instagram and Facebook pages are from Iphones. While we do have guest photographers come visit with us, we have gotten pretty handy at finding the best shot in the situation. Your children are going to love getting the chance to exercise their own photography skills, learning the fundamentals of framing, lighting, use of background and foreground, crop factor and more.
Of course, we will also play the role of equine photographer to capture amazing shots of your children on their rides. You’ll be able to see these photos on our Facebook page, in the same way that we post photos of trails.

Tips for a great photo: Have your children dress in solid colored clothing, preferably something that will contrast with the greenery around us. Red, purple, deep orange, mustard yellow, and pink are great colors to chose from. Light patterns can make for a great visual, but overly patterned clothing can overwhelm the eye.
Parents are welcome to sign up for a trail ride with their children during the week. Check with us as we have limited availability and it is a first-come, first-serve basis. Parents who ride along can get in the shot too, for a memorable experience this Summer 2017!

Learning about equine photography, photo editing, and simple apps and online tools to add captions and more is all part of the fun. Because let’s face it, part of what you love about us is the photography we show off on our platforms! We can’t wait to involve your children in that experience. During the hot part of the day, we will take shelter in cool spaces to get some rest. To keep students engaged and learning, we will use photo editing as well as yoga, arts & crafts, and dream board collages to ensure your summer campers have a full and invigorating day.
