Outdoor Special Events 11/18/18-11/19/18 with Maverick’s

Schedule of Events Saturday 11/18/18

Maverick’s is sponsoring the Lockhart Public Library for a free community event this weekend.  We are happy to support the creation and implementation of two community-based education programs to begin at the library January 2018 for both Spanish and English speakers.  Classes will be free:

Early literacy classes for Spanish speakers ages 2-7 and their parents, and;

Spanish learning classes for children and adults.

Classes are offered by Austin Lessons and Tutoring, LLC and will be free of charge to the community.  Come find out more information at the Library’s info booth this Saturday.

9am: Photography Session with Chad W Adams Photography of Austin for women and couples.  Ladies, sport that beautiful dress you’ve been wanting to show off, but this time, do it with our horses and the beautiful scenery at Spoaks Motopark as your backdrop.  Sessions are FREE, but limited and by appointment only.

10am-3pm: Maverick’s is hosting its Riding Lessons at the motocross track.  These are our standard paid rides.  We have a few spaces available still for the 9am arrival.

3pm: The gates open again for a second photography shoot with Carlos Suarez Photography.  Again, this is by reservation only.  Special thanks to Carlos Suarez for many years of dedicated service to our cause: sharing horsemanship and love of these amazing and beautiful animals with Austinites and travelers from all over the world.

4pm: Lockhart State Park’s Park Interpreter, Ranger Lauren, will host a Native American Ancient Spear Throwing Class: The Atlatl.  Learn about this ancient weapon and get a chance to learn how to use it.  Fun for all ages.

5pm: Ranger Lauren is at it again with a class on Bow and Arrow Use and Safety.  Participants must arrive by 5pm if they’d like to participate.  Class demonstration open to all.  Participants must be age 10+ under Texas State Park guidelines.

4pm-7pm: Ongoing Activities
