YoloTX arrives tomorrow at 7:30am to premier Maverick’s as a Top Texas Thing to Do

Well believe it or not, the time is here.  Soon we will be able to point to YoloTX TV show along with an array of Austin-based companies that have represented Maverick’s Horsemanship Lessons as a top thing to do.  We are super excited to be part of this fun filming process.  We figure, hey, if they can work their magic like they do with little cafes and restaurants, imagine what Quarter Moon Production’s host, AC, will be able to do with our horses of every shape and color?  We’re pretty sure it’s going to be better than good!

The day will start with some B roll.  Moseying through the ranch on foot, we hope to guide the YoloTX crew to deer, song birds, blue heron, white cranes, maybe even an armadillo or two!  Who knows what we’ll come across?  The animals love coming out in the early morning hours, and we plan on making some footage of the pond a priority.  Enjoy nature walks?  This will be right up your alley.

At 8:30 we will call the horses in.  However we do it, this is always a fun process.  You’ll get to see the horses parade by, flashy colors and all.  By 9am we will have all of the horses tied and ready to go for the day.  Just like all of our lessons, we will begin with a session where riders meet the horses.  During the process of grooming and tacking the horses, riders will get comfortable with their mount for the day, and with the relationship with their instructor, Joan Marie.

We’ll mount by 10:15, and take a good two hours on property meandering around the various trails we have, in open grassy pastures, hilly and wooded areas.  There will be a few cantering shots, which is of course everyone’s favorite.  After riding around property, we will head to Smitty’s for some famous Texas BBQ.

Here at Maverick Riding, we tend to feel that every day is like a movie.  Sometimes that’s good, sometimes it’s great, and at times it’s challenging, but it is our movie and we love the life we live.  Let’s keep Lockhart country, keep Lockhart proud, and show everyone how much Maverick Riding shares with our guests!

Peace, Love and Horses!
