Top Texas TV Travel Show, YoloTX, will be featuring Maverick Riding as a Thing to Do!

What’s happening at Maverick’s?

On Monday, YoloTX’s host, AC, will be coming to spend the day with us.  This means a lot of things for us, but what it really means is something for you!  It means that we need volunteers.  We are going to ride over the hills and through the woods, tra la la-ing about.

See how you can get involved with this unique horsemanship lesson.

What time does it take place?

For filming, folks can arrive on Monday, October 2nd between 8:30 and 9:30.  We will go through the process of one of our normal horsemanship lessons on the ranch, in which we begin with a Meet the Horses session.  Riders do not need to be experienced equestrians to volunteer.  We could also really use a hand Sunday to add some “final touches.”  If you’d like to help spread the work of Maverick Horseback Riding’s horsemanship lessons, but you don’t want to be caught on candid camera, please let us know!  Volunteers will be needed Sunday and Monday.

What will the horsemanship experience be like?

When it’s time to mount up, we’ll give instructions on how to handle the horse.  This instruction will continue throughout the ride.  Winding through trails that go through open pastures, grassy hills and wooded paths, you’ll get to learn how to position your hands, feet and body to make for a comfortable ride for you AND the horse!  If you’d like to hear a comical first-hand experience from on of our trail blazers, click on Five Tips to Overcome Your Fear of Horseback Riding to hear what you can expect to experience.  Careful.  You might just laugh out loud.

Who can participate in the horse filming in Lockhart TX?

If you’d like to get involved on Monday, please contact us at 512-230-8413.  We’re taking names and numbers of participants and will have the final details in place tomorrow at 3pm.  You can also check back in with us here for updated information.  Been filmed before?  Never been filmed?  Horse pro?  No horse experience?  NO WORRIES!  Leave your worries at the gate and bring your smile.  You’ll be on camera!

Please don’t forget that we are a family ranch by reservation only.  We will send you the address to the horse ranch and directions once you’ve confirmed an appointment.

We would like to give a hearty THANK YOU to Jackie Delgado at Quartermoon Productions for partnering with us on this fun adventure.  Looking forward to seeing you in the saddle!
